i have had 3 great danes in my life so far, first passed away of old age, second i still have, and third was a complete turd bucket so we gave him away. bonnie is the one i still have and she is a sweet heart. she is about 3 years old. she is half blind and half deaf. love her so much.

I miss my Danes. I only got 5 years with one (wobblers) but the other kept going to a very old age of 12. Probably the best dogs I have ever had.

My cousin owned a GD. The “mooooooost” gentle creature on earth. We buried his ashes with my cousin, (died of an overdose 😢) because he meant so much to my cousin, but also the entire family. They truly are gentle giants. I become completely attached to my animals, and their life span is so small. I also have a freak of nature Old English Sheepdog. This is how it went. Well he is a very huge baby sheepdog, as sheepdogs go. Well this sheepdog is a mutant. He is 155lbs of pure LOVE. He is the mayor of our development. Loves everyone. I’ve had people ring my doorbell, bringing Tucker back. I’ve never met these people in my life, but everyone knows him. Don’t go on a walk unless you want to be out for hours on end cuz everyone wants to see Tuck. It was the same with my cousin’s Great Dane. Majestic dogs who just don’t live long enough. RIP Fletcher!!!

I miss my Great Dane he passed while I was stationed overseas he used to back up to the couch and sit on my daughter's lap even when she was like three years old it was hilarious he was also kind of an ass I made myself a sandwich he was eyeballing it I told him don't even think about touching my sandwich then I went to the bathroom and when I came out he was sitting calmly next to my daughter on the other side of the kitchen and she had tears rolling down her face and whole face is red I asked her if anything is wrong she said no I went to pick up my sandwich and there was a long soggy straight line across it after she got done laughing and was able to breathe again my daughter told me as soon as I went to the restroom Sebastian walked over to my sandwich looked at the bathroom door and then just laid his tongue across the sandwich just laid it there letting it soak in a****

2:48 so the breeder we got our great Dane from had an absolutely huge property for him and his danes and he just had chairs randomly scattered around everywhere and he'd just sit and one of the dogs would just come and sit on his lap. It was hilarious lol

I've never owned a great dane, but I've been OWNED by two! They really do think that they are "lap" dogs, The most dangerous thing about them is their Tail, when they're wagging and hit you it hurts. They do bond easily with small animals. My 10# poodle "bullied" my dane. I think that the harlequin danes have the goofiest personality
